Description:

The psychodynamics of anger, to include common reasons for its occurrence and how it is manifested in children will be discussed. Specific play therapy techniques and CBT strategies for working with an angry child will be explored. The role of parents in coaching children to manage anger will also be included. This workshop is particularly important, given that a significant number of children in play therapy experience anger that is out of control.

After attending this workshop, participants will be able to...

  • Describe various ways anger is manifested in playroom
  • Identify CBT techniques for managing anger in play therapy
  • List specific ways in which parents can help child to self-regulate

Sonia Hinds, APRN, PMH-BC, RPT-S™ is the Founder and CEO of Chesapeake Beach Professional Seminars. Founder and Executive Director of Barstow Acres Children’s Center, a non-profit practice providing children's mental health services. Ms. Hinds is trained in Child-Centered and Gestalt play therapy with Violet Oaklander (retired). Cancellation Policy
Written notification of cancellation must be received in our office at least 10 business days prior to a training for a refund. A $25.00 cancellation fee will be deducted from the refund. There will be no refund for cancellation notification less than 10 business days.

CBPS reserves the right to cancel a training due to inclement weather or insufficient enrollment. In the event of such cancellation, you will receive a full refund.
