Ethics for clinical practice must consider four domains:

  1. Co-transference between clinician and client,
  2. Clinical dynamics between clinician and supervisor,
  3. Socio-cultural-political arrangements including social justice, and
  4. Clinician education and training.

However, a mere review of the published codes can miss the nuance of meaning in clinical dynamics, the role of power, clinical presuppositions, abuse of ethical codes, and cultural expectations. Taking a case study approach, participants will engage in role plays to re-conceptualize and respond to ethical dilemmas. Critical thinking will ground our explorations of ethics as participants switch roles, develop reflective skills for ethical practice, and challenge the thinking and projections that minimize ethical insight.
